I'm a regular 25-year-old from Toronto, Canada trying to raise some money for Alzheimer’s research and care by doing something hard.
My Pop has Alzheimer’s. What’s been hardest is watching how it affects the people around him — especially my Gran. She’s with him every day, and even though the Dementia continues to worsen, her love for him is just the same.
The 100 KM run and future events are my way to do something about a disease that doesn’t give much back. If it helps a bit with the work being done to fight Dementia — or reminds someone they’re not alone — then it’s worth the effort.
In terms of future events, I think we should probably focus on the 100 KM, no? I mean, if we can really make some noise with this event, I’ll have no choice but to cook up some more nutty runs.
Thanks for reading and feel free to share with your friends.
Let’s let it rip.
